Mary Virginia Cochrane Caldwell, 74, of Roanoke Rapids, formerly of Newport News, died May 24, 2014.

Mary was the daughter of the late Harry Nelson and Mary Irene Shannon Cochrane.

She was retired from BASF in Williamsburg, Va. after many years of service.

She is survived by her daughters Rose C. Harris and her husband Danny of Roanoke Rapids, and Wendy C. Moore and her husband Paul of Newport News; her son Alfie Caldwell and his wife Cindy of Richmond, VA; her sister Ehtel ''Penny'' Ford and her husband, M. R. ''Sonny'' Ford of Ft. Myers, Florida; hre brother Harry ''Laddie'' Cochrane and his wife Aurelia of Apex, NC; five grandchildren, Evan Caldwell, Daniel Harris, Melissa Moore, Melody Moore and Jessica Caldwell; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Warwick United Methodist Church, 38 Hoops Road, Newport News, VA.
